This chapter sets park history, literature, and the three previous case studies within the context of theories of public religiosity. Through follow-up interviews with survey participants, the chapter demonstrates how visitors understand the political and religious dimensions of their experiences at the various sites, and how the two relate to each other. The interviews demonstrate the effectiveness in park management techniques in shaping experience, showing the emergence of a public, secular religiosity that is open to different religious traditions and draws upon the liberal tradition of the public good. In this way, park management yields this form of public religion in the service of state power
