Abstract

This is a book about the psychology of environmental law. Psychology can affect environmental legal doctrine and institutions by affecting how people perceive, respond to, value, and make decisions about the environment. Where environmental law fails to incorporate insights from psychology, it risks misunderstanding and mispredicting human behaviors that injure and affect the environment, and misprescribing legal tools to shape those behaviors.
