Depending on whose deaths are depicted, postmortem pictures are believed to bring much benefit or harm. In many cases, we complain that these images lack the facts and only express bad taste, but sometimes we say corpse images reveal the essential evidence. Most are condemned as evil while but a few are considered ethically necessary. Welcomed as a powerful tool of justice, these exceptions are equated with tremendous potential for change, where a better world seems to hang in the balance.
