This chapter explores the reactions that participants have provoked with their tattoo collections from their family members: parents, grandparents, lovers, children, and the extended family. Many of the participants started collecting tattoos at an early age, eighteen being popular because it marks the first opportunity to legitimately purchase a tattoo. At this age, the participants are most concerned with the reaction of parents, with whom they often live. Subsequent generations saw an increased amount of tattoos among their acquaintances, and therefore are more accepting. The participants’ own families, their partners and children, had the least problems with their body art. Children do not know any differently and love their parents’ tattoos. But what are the consequences for these reactions against tattooing within families?
