This chapter introduces the budding field of mind-brain education and features some of the early advances made in the area of brain research related to education. It provides an overview of how the brain processes information, how it learns, and how the mind relates to the brain and body, while underlining the possibilities for neuroscience to contribute to education. Such advances are of considerable interest to educators, and eventually, the new knowledge will be useful to those who like Courtney Ross, wish to have education deliver all of its promises. Citing collaborative projects with the Ross Schools as a promising example, the chapter elaborates the power of mind-brain research to help understand students' learning experiences in new and different ways, as well as to improve current approaches to student engagement and pedagogy.
